A Message from the Headteacher -  25th July 2015

Hello everyone,

After a very busy year at THT we are now closed for the Summer Break. We open for the Autumn Term on Thursday 3rd September at the usual time of 8.55am, with the doors open at 8.45am.

Have a look at the Year 6 Section of 'Class Stories' as there are lots of photos of the 'Leaver's' celebrations...the talent show, the disco etc.

Some children have spotted our School Teddies around the village...Peter in our reception class wrote me a lovely letter to say where they are...and one of our other pupils sent in photo evidence!!...see if you can spot them...and let me know!!

Thanks for reading, yours sincerely,

Stephen B. Smith

What amazing children we have!!!

The children took part in the Lancashire Youth Games on Tuesday 1st July.

They overcame the 16 best teams in Lancashire to win GOLD at the Games. They strode through the semi-final and were then fantastic in the final. The school have qualified for the Lancashire Youth Game three times in the last 6 years and have won Bronze, Sliver and now Gold.

What is perhaps more amazing is one of our families who have had their five children all 'medalling' in the competition: Silver (Cameron in 2010), Bronze (Harry  in 2011) and Gold (Millie, Livvy and Finlay in 2015).

Mr Marshall is very proud of what the children have achieved.  This year's team has won all FIVE tournaments they have entered this year and have been unbeatable this season (having just won the final one of the seaon at the weekend!).

Have a look at the photos below to see what went on at the Games and how well we played!! Also look at the 'photo calls' we did for the newspapers!!

A Brief note about our School

We have a very successful Breakfast Club and After School Club housed on site.

Judged by OFSTED as a good school in 2013, we offer a creative curriculum based very much on outdoor learning.

We have a proactive and supportive Governing Body and a busy Friends of the School.

Our website is under development and has two purposes:-

  • To provide information about our school for any parents considering applying for a place for their child.
  • To act as an information bank for our existing parents, to which they can refer for holiday details, copies of relevant forms and the weekly newsletter.

...all at the touch of a few keys!!

We hope you will find this site useful...and I'll be asking you as to your thoughts about our website as it 'evolves'!!

Please note that all the significant school policies are available to view on this website, and this includes our lastest School Prospectus and our Pupil Premium and PE Funding Statements. All our latest Policies etc. can be viewed by 'clicking' the policy 'pencil' although one or two policies are still on other pages!!
